Swarinski KateKate Swinarski

Kate is a junior at Creighton University, where she is studying social work and public policy.  She will graduate in 2019.  Kate is active within student government, serving as president of the Non-Traditional Student Union and sitting on both the Student Organization Review Committee and the Adult Learning Committee.  She has worked extensively with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and would like to continue working with this population post-graduation.  She plans on pursuing a joint Juris Doctor/Master of Public Policy degree and would like to focus on social justice and advocacy.

Fun fact:  Kate owns over 200 pairs of shoes.


Sauter MichaelMichael Sauter

Michael Sauter, an EJC fellow in Omaha, is currently a graduate student in the Masters of Public Health program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Michael expects to graduate in May 2018. He is a graduate of Creighton University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration & Policy, with minors in Public Health and Business Administration. Michael has a wide array of work experiences in the for-profit, not for profit, and governmental sectors. Michael has worked full-time for an electronic health records (EHR) corporation, as well as intern with the Nebraska Division of Public Health and Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN). Michael also currently holds a position with CS-CASH at UNMC with responsibilities including policy advocacy and health education and outreach. Michael hopes to someday work in public health policy advocacy.

Fun Fact: Michael is an avid runner
