Collective Impact Lincoln Program Manager

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Civic Health programs, the Program Manager will serve as the coordinator of all Collective Impact Lincoln (CIL) program staff and initiatives.

The Program Manager will directly supervise the community organizer, coordinate the (CIL) program partners, and oversee the creation and implementation of the Neighborhood Leadership Academy. This position will host and facilitate bi-weekly initiative meetings of all the key staff from the three partnering agencies to ensure objectives and metrics are being met, and to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Other responsibilities include assisting members of traditionally disenfranchised communities in leadership development and supporting resident-driven neighborhood revitalization. Duties also include organizing volunteers for authentic community engagement through deep canvassing at households, community events, and public spaces; asset mapping; and leadership development.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all Collective Impact Lincoln (CIL) program staff, across partnering organizations
  • Directly supervise the NCR field organizer
  • Manage database information and provide reports to partners
  • Oversee and coordinate all community organizing activities
  • Collaborate with Appleseed and SDCDO organizers bi-weekly meetings to ensure clear communication
  • Create the Neighborhood Leadership Academy and foster leadership development in neighborhood groups through the Academy.
  • Maintain and build relationships with community groups and advocacy organizations
  • Create partnerships between other organizations to reach a wider community
  • Create and manage resident led  action committees
  • Support the recruitment, cultivation, and training of grassroots advocates
  • Facilitate asset mapping exercises and help communities identify potential projects
  • Create programs that facilitate and provide for authentic, community-driven engagement
  • Develop and distribute communications, including traditional media and social media outlets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, along with 3-5 years experience in nonprofit realm
  • Ability to work independently and be task oriented
  • Flexible schedule, allowing for some work events in the evenings
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in effectively supervising staff members
  • Some experience with grassroots organizing or legislative policy 
  • Experience with neighborhood organizing, neighborhood leadership initiatives
  • Bilingual preferred

 

Compensation

Competitive non-profit manager level salary, along with full medical and dental benefits provided. This is a full time exempt position.

Organization Profile

Collective Impact Lincoln will use door-to-door conversations with residents of Lincoln’s most challenged neighborhoods to weave connections between diverse communities, and empower and engage community members in public decision-making processes. The project will develop leadership skills among neighbors and workers to ensure diverse voices are heard and community members’ needs are reflected in policy discussions. The project will also conduct broad legal and policy analysis and advocacy on community-identified issues that residents determine can improve quality of life in Lincoln.
